Abstract
Žene i muškarci ne razlikuju se samo po fizičkim osobinama i reproduktivnoj funkciji, već i u načinima na koje njihov mozak obrađuje određene informacije i rješava neke probleme. Spolne razlike od velikog su znanstvenog i društvenog interesa te su istražena tema u brojnim aspektima ljudskog ponašanja, pa tako i u brzini senzomotoričke reakcije. Ona se definira kao vremenski interval između upotrebe podražaja i pojave brzog dobrovoljnog odgovora pojedinca. Cilj ovog istraživanja je ispitati postoji li među studentima fizioterapije razlika u brzini reakcije na vizualni podražaj ovisno o spolu. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 48 ispitanika. Brzina reagiranja na vizualni podražaj mjerena je online testom (Human Benchmark Reaction Time). Uz to, ispitanici su ispunili kratak upitnik kojim su prikupljeni osnovni podaci o njihovim karakteristikama. Rezultati ukazuju na statistički značajnu razliku u brzini senzomotoričkih reakcija s obzirom na spol studenata; muški dio populacije brže reagira na vizualni podražaj.
Abstract (english)
Women and men differ not only in physical characteristics and reproductive function, but also in the way their brains processes certain information and solves some problems. Gender differences are of great scientific and social interest and topics have been explored in many aspects of human behavior, including the speed of sensorimotor response. It is defined as the time interval between the use of stimuli and the emergence of rapid voluntary response of individuals. The aim of this study was to examine whether there is a difference between physiotherapy students in the speed of response to visual stimuli depending on gender. The study involved 48 respondents. The speed of response to a visual stimulus was measured by an online test (Human Benchmark Reaction Time). In addition, respondents completed a short questionnaire that collected basic data on their characteristics. The results indicate a statistically significant difference in the speed of sensorimotor reactions with rigard to gender of students; the male part of the population responds more quickly to visual stimuli.
