Abstract
Nestabilnost gležnja je stanje koje karakterizira ponavljajuće popuštanje vanjske (bočne) strane gležnja. Ovo se stanje često razvija nakon ponavljajućih uganuća gležnja. Obično se događa u hodu ili za vrijeme obavljanja nekih aktivnosti, ali može se dogoditi i tokom normalnog stojećeg stava. Mnogi sportaši imaju česte tegobe po pitanju nestabilnosti nožnog zgloba. Takve se osobe često žale na višekratno okretanje gležnja, posebno na neravnim površinama ili tokom sudjelovanja u sportu. Nestabilnost gležnja obično se razvija nakon istegnuća gležnja koji se nije dovoljno zacijelio ili nije u potpunosti saniran. Kada se dogodi istegnuće gležnja, vezivna tkiva(ligamenti) se istegnu ili rastrgaju. Često se utječe na sposobnost ravnoteže. Pravilna rehabilitacija potrebna je kako bi se ojačali mišići oko gležnja i prekvalificirala tkiva unutar gležnja koja utječu na ravnotežu. Svako naredno uganuće dovodi do daljnjeg slabljenja ligamenata, što rezultira većom nestabilnošću i vjerojatnom razvoju dodatnih problema u gležnju.
Abstract (english)
Ankle instability is a condition characterized by repeated loosening of the outer (lateral) side of the ankle. This condition often develops after repeated ankle sprains. It usually occurs while walking or while performing some activities, but can also occur during normal standing. Many athletes have frequent problems with wrist instability. Such individuals often complain of ankle rotation repeatedly, especially on uneven surfaces or while participating in sports. Ankle instability usually develops after an ankle stretch that has not healed sufficiently or is not fully repaired. When ankle stretching occurs, the connective tissues (ligaments) are stretched or torn. The ability to balance is often affected. Proper rehabilitation is needed to strengthen the muscles around the ankle and to retrain the tissues within the ankle that affect balance. Each subsequent twist leads to a further weakening of the ligaments, resulting in greater instability and the likely development of additional ankle problems.
