Abstract
Šećerna bolest (lat. diabetes mellitus) spada u metaboličke bolesti kod koje dolazi do poremećene regulacije glukoze u krvi. Dijabetes primarno zahvaća Langerhansove otočiće u gušterači, gdje se proizvode glukagon i inzulin. Prema procjeni Međunarodne dijebetičke udruge, u 2019. godini broj oboljelih od dijabetesa iznosio je 463 milijuna, a oboljeli su bili u dobnim skupinama od 20-79 godina. Osobe s poremećajem tolerancije glukoze potrebno je educirati o promjeni načina života, pravilnoj prehrani te važnosti koju ima tjelesna aktivnost u sprječavanju nastanka komplikacija. Kod oboljelih dolazi do promjena na očima, srcu, bubrezima, krvnim žilama i živcima. Tjelesna aktivnost definira se kao bilo kakvo pokretanje tijela nastalo djelovanjem mišića, što rezultira potrošnjom energije. Održavanje kontinuiranog programa vježbanja u osoba oboljelih od dijabetesa povezana je sa smanjenjem rizika od nastanka kardiovaskularnih komplikacija te smanjenjem mortaliteta. Tjelesna aktivnost može usporiti nastanak dijabetičkih komplikacija te također smanjiti potrebu za uzimanjem lijekova. Ukoliko se provode aktivnosti duljeg trajanja ili jačeg intenziteta potrebno je smanjiti dozu inzulina te povečati unos hrane, kako bi se smanjila mogućnost nastanka hipoglikemije. Redovitom tjelesnom aktivnošću u osoba sa dijabetesom tipa 2 dokazano su smanjenje kariovaskularne komplikacije te mortalitet. Razna istraživanja ukazala su na raznolikost vježbi koje trudnica može provoditi, počevši od tjelovježbe manjeg intenziteta kao što je joga, pa do većeg intenziteta poput grupnog aerobika te jogging. Intenzitet, trajanje i učestalost aktivnosti potrebno je postupno povećavati. Mjerenje HRmax najčešće se koristi kao fiziološki parametar u kontroliranju intenziteta aktivnosti.
Abstract (english)
Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease that leads to abnormal blood glucose regulation. Diabetes primarily affects Langerhans islets in the pancreas, where glucagon and insulin are produced. According to estimates by the International Diabetes Association, in 2019 the number of diabetes patients was 463 million and the patients were in the 20-79 age group. People with glucose tolerance disorder should be educated about lifestyle changes, proper diet and the importance of physical activity in preventing complications. In patients, there are changes in the eyes, heart, kidneys, blood vessels and nerves. Physical activity is defined as any initiation of the body resulting from the action od muscles, resulting in energy consumption. Maintaining continuous exercise progams in people with diabetes is associated with reducing the risk of cardiovascular complications and reducing mortality. Physical activity can slow the onset of diabetic complications and also reduce the need to take medication. If activities of a longer duration or higher intensity are carried out, the insulin dose should be reduced and food intake increased in order to reduce the chance of hypoglycaemia. Regular physical activity in people with type 2 diabetes has shown a decrease in carovascular complications and mortality. Various studies have shown a variety of exercises a pregnant woman can perform, from lower-intensity exercise such as yoga, to higher intensity such as group aerobics and jogging. The intensity, duration and frequency of activities should be gradually increased. Measuring HRmax is most commonly used as a physiological parameter in controlling activity intensity.
