Lumbar pain syndrome can be defined as pain accompanied by muscle tension, discomfort and stiffness that the patient feels in the back. The pain occurs between the lower costal arches and the lower gluteal groove, with or without spreading the pain to the legs. Lumbar pain syndrome can be divided into specific and non-specific and one of the ways of treatment is to excercise the patient. Excercise is a planned and stuctured process and aims to improve components of physical fitness. It contributes to reducing chronic pain, reducing disability and improving general physical and mental health. Exercises that have shown their effectiveness are: medical excercises, water excercises, pilates excercises, excercises based on extension according to the McKenzie method, excercises for the transversus abdominis mucle and exercises to encourage the patient to contact the multifidus muscle. In addition to the above, balance, stretching, aerobic, conditioning, strengthening, endurance and walking excercises can also be performed. It is important to inform the patient about the entire treatment process and to encourage him to adapt a healthy lifestyle including regular excercise. It is important that the excercise are adapted to each patient and that he is educated on the correct execution of the exercises.
