Autistic disorder is a pervasive neurodevelopmental disorder that begins in childhood. The syndrome was first described by American psychiatrist Leo Kanner. The autism spectrum disorder is biologically based and is characterized by the trinity of the disorder. These disorders affect the ability of a person to use and understand social communication and interaction and to be flexible in their thinking, behavior, and imagination. Each therapy must start from the individual developmental profile of the child and therefore, targeted, different areas should be included in the therapy, as encouraging speech, behavioral change, encouragement of activity and perseverance. It is of utmost importance that the earlier start of treatment is as effective as the individual approach. Early interventions have a positive impact on the child's psychological, social, and physical characteristics. For children with autistic spectrum disorders it is important to design an intervention to reduce their sensomotor deficits. Physiotherapy in children with autism has a very important place because by its action it allows child to develop more normally by providing him with sensomotor information for which the child was absent due to his autistic behavior. An essential component in the physiotherapy process is access to and communication with parents and support and motivation. Through physiotherapy that can consist of kinesitherapy, hydrotherapy, sensory integration and other forms of physical activity, it is encouraged to have a positive effect on the person with autism. Child education, including parents and families, is of utmost importance for the family to function better so that parents can access the child in the right way.
