Anthropometric characteristics and body composition of athletes have been the subject of various studies in which many researchers have assumed that athletes are expected to have certain structural and functional characteristics that are particularly suitable for their specific sport. The aim of this study was to evaluate the anthropometric characteristics of FC VuteksSloga football players and how they change during the preparation period. 19 subjects were measured for body height and body weight with an estimate of body composition. The body mass index was calculated based on the measured height and mass. Blood pressure and resting heart rate were also measured. All measurements were made twice: at the beginning and at the end of the preparation period. In addition to the measurement, at the beginning of the study, the respondents completed a short questionnaire with information of their age and length of training, playing position, and habits such as smoking, medication, and supplements. The results showed that there was no statistically significant difference in height, total mass, or BMI value among players playing in different positions in the team. There were statistically significant differences in pressure and pulse values among players at different playing positions. Defense players had an average of 22 mmHg higher systolic pressure than strikers (p = 0.003) and 19 mmHg higher pressure than midfielders (p = 0.005). Defenders have an average of 15 mmHg higher diastolic pressure than midfielders (p = 0.016). There was a statistically significant difference between strikers and midfielders in pulse values (p = 0.036). Changes in body composition during the preparatory period were not statistically significant, as were changes in resting blood pressure. The resting heart rate at the end of the preparation period decreased from baseline, and this decrease in pulse rate in average of 4.7 beats / min was statistically significant (p = 0.003).
