Osteoarthritis is a multifactorial disease where even today it is not entirely clear which factors are included in the appearance and progression of the disease in certain patients. It can be primary and secondary but mostly affects middle-aged or elderly individuals. It is chronic and one of the most common causes of physical disabilities. Characteristic properties of hip osteoarthritis include pain, crepitation, stiffness and functional limitations during activities which is mostly caused by decreased physical activity. Physiotherapy cannot affect the progression of radiological findings, but it can affect the consequences by decreasing pain and increasing function in daily activities. Since we always want to enable people to return to performing daily activities and restore the patient’s earlier state through rehabilitation, the work goals are based on the effect of treatment and physiotherapy modalities. The work goals are to establish the most common age of the patients and the most commonly applied medication, establish the effect of exercise on pain, the effect of exercise and medication on daily functioning, and establish if acupuncture and manipulative techniques are recommended in decreasing pain in patients.
