It is therefore important to know the physiology of pain, type of pain and various causes of pain in order to treat that pain adequately. Pain can be classified by duration, strength, quality, pathophysiological changes and cause. All these divisions have a basis in pathophysiological events in the body and each of them has its clinical justification and usability. Classification of pain affects pain in the central or peripheral, with pathogenic development pain associated with nociceptive, neuropathic, psychosomatic and psychological pain, and duration of acute and chronic pain. Based on available scientific evidence and knowledge of the causes of chronic pain and mechanisms that are being maintained, numerous pain treatment methods and various therapeutic approaches have been developed. Access to the patient is individual and multidisciplinary, and involves physicians and clinicians of different specialties. At all levels of pain management, high-tech approaches to pain management and ethical principles are respected in investigating and treating pain. Various approaches are used in physical therapy, depending on the area and the cause of the pain itself. In treating pain, the physiotherapist uses manual therapy, thermal procedures, electrotherapy, electromagnetotherapy, shockwave therapy, and biofeedback in his work.
