The knee is the largest joint of the musculoskeletal system that supports body weight and makes it easier for all of us to move. The term "syndrome" means the "set of symptoms" by which these lesions are manifested, the etiology of the onset is multi-causal, in most cases there are multiple causes of the onset. In general, overuse injuries are named after: the affected anatomical structure, by the sport in which it most commonly occurs, by the cause of onset, by the author who first or best described the syndrome, by characteristic symptom or clinical picture. In the initial stage of overuse injuries, the clinical picture is characterized by a tightening sensation, followed by pain in the whole or in part of the myoesthesia apparatus when it is stretched (passive and active), in the contraction of the corresponding resistance muscle and in the normal contraction of the muscle. There are several stages in the development of these impairments with regard to the onset of pain during sports or professional activity and its intensity. The biggest problem with overuse injuries is actually the ability to switch acute to chronic inflammation if the initial symptoms are ignored. Knee surge syndromes include: jumping knee, Morbus Osgood- Schlatter, breaststrokers knee, iliotibial band syndrome, semimembranosus tendinopathy, Hoffa’s fat pad impingement syndrome, fabella syndrome, popliteus tendinopathy, pes anserinus tendinitis, synovial fold syndrome, and Morbus Sinding-Larsen.
