Abstract
Koštana masa svoj vrhunac dostiže u pubertetu, točnije nakon njegovog završetka, a nakon toga započinje gubitak koštane mase. Očekivano trajanje života u modernim društvima dramatično je povećan tijekom prošlog stoljeća. Kao posljedica toga, učestalost poremećaja koji prventsveno pogađaju starije osobe znatno se povećala. Osteoporoza, kao jedna takva bolest koja pogađa stariju populaciju, definira se kao sistemska, reumatska, progresivna i metabolička bolest. Ona je također tiha bolest i ostaje neprepoznata sve dok se ne dogodi prijelom. Iako je najraširenija kod starijih žena, neki muškarci su također izloženi visokom riziku. Pa tako menopauza i dob u porastu uzrokuju neravnotežu između stope resorpcije i formiranja kosti, čime se povećava rizik od prijeloma. Osteoporotske frakture povezane su sa znatnim morbiditetom i mortalitetom te iako su dostupni lijekovi koji se propisuju za osteoporozu, ona ne može biti u potpunosti izliječena. Stoga, vježbanje ovdje dolazi kao ekonomičan, efikasan i siguran način prevencije razvoja osteoporoze te kao pomoć u samom stanju ukoliko se pristupa tome individualno i pažljivo. U ovome radu istražiti će se utjecaj Tai Chia, joge, pilatesa, vježbi s otporom i aerobika na osteoporozu i parametara povezanih s njom.
Abstract (english)
Bone mass reaches its peak at puberty, more precisely after its completion, and after that the loss of bone mass begins. Life expectancy in modern societies has increased dramatically over the past century. As a result, the incidence of disorders that primarily affect the elderly has increased significantly. Osteoporosis, as one such disease that affects the elderly population, is defined as a systemic, rheumatic, progressive and metabolic disease. It is also a silent disease and remains unrecognized until a fracture occurs. Although most common in older women, some men are also at high risk. Thus menopause and rising age cause an imbalance between the rate of resorption and bone formation, thus increasing the risk of fractures. Osteoporotic fractures are associated with significant morbidity and mortality, and although medications prescribed for osteoporosis are available, it cannot be completely cured. Therefore, exercise here comes as an economical, effective and safe way to prevent the development of osteoporosis and as help in the condition itself if it is approached individually and carefully. This paper will explore the impact of Tai Chi, yoga, pilates, resistance exercises and aerobics on osteoporosis and the parameters associated with it.
