Abstract
Astma je kronična upalna bolest respiratornog sustava. Ona je karakterizirana hipersenzitivnošću dišnih puteva te opstrukcijom protoka zraka. U svijetu od astme boluje oko 300 milijuna ljudi. Liječenje astme se dijeli na specifično i nespecifično. Specifično je usmjereno na uklanjanje uzroka astme, dok nespecifično je usmjereno na simptomatsko liječenje. Razlikujemo medikamentozno i nemedikamentozno liječenje astme. U nemedikamentozno liječenje spada edukacija pacijenta i respiratorna fizioterapija. Cilj respiratorne fizioterapije je smanjenje simptoma bolesti i povećanje kvalitete života bolesti. Fizioterapijski postupci te vježbe disanja imaju važnu ulogu u kontroli astme i njezinom liječenju.
Abstract (english)
Asthma is chronic inflammatory disease of respiratory system. She is characterized by airway hypersensitivity and airflow limitation. Globaly around 300 milion people suffer from asthma. Asthma treatment can be specific and nonspecific. Specific treatment is aimed at eliminating the causes of asthma meanwhile the nonspscific treatment is aimed at treating the symptoms of asthma. We distinguish between drug and non – drug treatment of asthma. In non – drug treatment we have education of patient and respiratory physiotherapy. The goal of respiratory physiotherapy is reducing of symptomy and increasing the quality of life in patients. Physiotherapy methods and breathing exercises have a important role in asthma control and treatment.
