Osteoporosis is a disease characterised by decrease in bone mass, distruption in structure and consequent insufficient mineralization of bone, which results in a decrease in its elasticity and strength and an increased possibility and frequency of fractures. Osteoporosis is a major public health problem and through the education of both medical staff and the rest of the population there is an attempt to raise awareness of risk factors and prevention and treatment. It is a progressive disease and occurs due to an imbalance between bone formation and resorption. The most important symptom that characterizes the clinical picture of osteoporosis is back pain. Compression fractures occur after sudden movement, lifting a load or falling. Osteoporosis is most often not diagnosed in time, its diagnosed only when a fracture occurs in the area of the hand, hip or spine, although any bone can break as a result of osteoporosis. To diagnose osteoporosis good diagnostics include: medical history, clinical examination, evaluation of risk factors, laboratory processing and densitometry which is actually the gold standard. Physiotherapeutic intervention for patients with osteoporosis includes various physiotherapeutic procedures and techniques. The primary goal is to prevent fractures and at the same time reduce the risk of falls, facilitate daily activities and prevent immobility. The aim of this paper is to determine how osteoporosis affects the quality of life of people with it.
