Abstract
Osteoartritis definiramo kao kroničnom, progresivnom i degenerativnom bolešću zglobova koja dovodi do degenerativnih promjena u zglobnoj hrskavici. Najčešće se pojavljuje kod osoba starije životne dobi i najčešće što zahvaća su zglob kuka i koljena. Simptomi koji karakteriziraju osteoartritis jesu bol, ukočenost, slabost mišića i ograničenu pokretljivost. Dijagnoza osteoartritisa se uspostavlja na osnovu anamneze i kliničkog pregleda pacijenta. Liječenje osteoartritisa kuka može biti farmakološko, nefarmakološko i kirurško gdje se ugrađuje totalna endoproteza kuka. Kvaliteta života osoba koje boluju od osteoartritisa kuka je narušena, a poboljšava se ugradnjom endoproteze kuka. Prije operacije, suočavaju se s dugotrajnim bolovima, smanjenom funkcionalnošću i emocionalnim stresom. Nakon operacije, znatno se smanjuje bol, te dovodi do povećane pokretljivosti i sposobnosti obavljanja aktivnosti svakodnevnog života. Osim tjelesnih aspekata, važno je naglasiti i psihološki aspekt. Osobe se osjećaju emocionalno oslobođene od dugotrajne boli i invalidnosti, što ima utjecaj na njihovu emocionalnu stabilnost i općenito blagostanje. Međutim, poslije ugradnje umjetnog kuka može doći do komplikacija kao što su dislokacija, okoštavanje i lom totalne endoproteze kuka.
Abstract (english)
Osteoarthritis is defined as a chronic, progressive, anddegenerative joint disease that leads to degenerative changes in join cartilage .It most commonly occurs in older individuals and frequently affects the hip and knee joints. Symptoms that characterize osteoarthritis include pain, stiffness muscle weakness and limited mobility. The diagnosis of osteoarthritis is established based on the patient's medical history and a clinical examination. The treatment of hip osteoarthritis can be pharmacological, non-pharmacological or surgical involving the implantation of total hip prosthesis. The quality of life for individuals with hip osteoarthritisis compromised, but it improves with the insertion of a hip endoprosthesis. Before the surgery, they face prolonged pain, reduced functionality and emotional distress. After the operation, pain is significantly reduced, leading to increased mobility and the ability to perform daily activities. In addition to the physical aspects, it's important to emphasize the psychological aspect. Individuals feel emotionally liberated from long-term pain and disability, which that can impact on their emotional stability and overall wellbeing. However, complications such as dislocation, ossification and fracture of the total hip prosthesis can occur after the artificial hip joint is implanted.
