Abstract
Hrvatska danas ima razvijenu vinsku kulturu, gdje ljudi cijene kvalitetu vina i uživaju u njemu u svakodnevnom životu. Kroz stoljeća, vino je za mnoge generacije imalo daleko važniju ulogu od same prehrambene potrebe; ono je simboliziralo društvena okupljanja i tradiciju. Prodaja i vinski biznis često su bili rezultat obiteljskih susreta, a značajan dio vinograda u Hrvatskoj nije registriran za komercijalnu proizvodnju, već se koristi isključivo za osobne potrebe. Vinska regija Slavonije i Baranje proteže se od Virovitice i Daruvara do Podunavlja i Baranje na istoku zemlje. Ovo područje je poznato po velikim vinogradarskim površinama, koje su zasađene raznim sortama vinove loze, a upravo se ovdje proizvodi najveći dio hrvatskog vina. Vinogradarstvo i vinarstvo u Hrvatskoj imaju dugu i bogatu povijest te u nekim dijelovima zemlje predstavljaju ključnu poljoprivrednu aktivnost koja je oblikovala život i gospodarstvo tog područja.
Abstract (english)
Nowadays, Croatia has a developed wine culture, where people appreciate the quality of wine and enjoy it in their everyday lives. Over the centuries, wine has played a much more significant role for many generations than merely fulfilling nutritional needs; it has symbolized social gatherings and tradition. Wine sales and business have often resulted from family gatherings, and a significant portion of vineyards in Croatia are not registered for commercial production but are used exclusively for personal needs. The wine region of Slavonia and Baranja stretches from Virovitica and Daruvar to the Danube region and Baranja in the east of the country. This area is known for its large vineyard areas, which are planted with various grape varieties, and it is here that the majority of Croatian wine is produced. Viticulture and winemaking in Croatia have a rich, long history and represent a vital agricultural activity in some parts of the country that has shaped the life and economy of the area.
