Abstract
Ankilozantni spondilitis (AS) je kronična reumatska bolest koja uzrokuje upalu kralježnice i korijenske zglobove, dovodeći do boli, ukočenosti i smanjene pokretljivosti. Rano prepoznavanje bolesti i primjena odgovarajućih terapija ključni su za očuvanje funkcionalnosti. Fizioterapijski proces igra ključnu ulogu u liječenju AS-a, kroz fizioterapijske vježbe, elektroterapije, krioterapije i edukacije pacijenata. Cilj ovih intervencija je smanjenje boli, poboljšanje fleksibilnosti te prevencija deformiteta, što značajno poboljšava kvalitetu života oboljelih.
Abstract (english)
Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a chronic rheumatic disease that causes inflammation of the spine and root joints, leading to pain, stiffness and reduced mobility. Early recognition of the disease and the application of appropriate therapies are key to preserving functionality. The physiotherapy process plays a key role in the treatment of AS, through physiotherapy exercises, electrotherapy, cryotherapy and patient education. The goal of these interventions is to reduce pain, improve flexibility and prevent deformities, which significantly improves the quality of life of patients.
