The paper analyses the impact of the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the Schengen area and the Eurozone on the country's economy, emphasizing key aspects such as trade, tourism, inflation and foreign investments. Membership of the European Union, which began on July 1, 2013, has brought many benefits, including access to a single market with more than 450 million consumers, as well as the ability to use EU funds to develop infrastructure and support the economy. Accession to the Schengen area, completed on 1 January 2023, has enabled the free movement of people, which has a significant impact on the tourism sector, which is crucial for the Croatian economy. The number of tourists is expected to increase, which may contribute to the strengthening of tourism revenues. The introduction of the euro as the official currency brings additional benefits, including price stability and reduction of transaction costs, which increases Croatia's attractiveness for foreign investors and makes it easier for local companies to do business. The paper also explores the challenges that Croatia may face, such as inflationary pressures and the adjustment of the local economy. Through the analysis of available data and literature, the paper seeks to provide insight into the long-term consequences of these changes on the Croatian economy. Finally, it offers policy recommendations to maximize the benefits of integration, ensuring the sustainable development and stability of the Croatian economy in the future.
