Abstract
Glavni cilj ovoga rada je pobliže objasniti nastanak i liječenje jednog od najčešćih sindroma prenaprezanja koji ometa obavljanje aktivnosti svakodnevnog života te normalnog obavljanja rada. Ovim radom ukazuje se na rizične čimbenike, kliničku sliku te na oblike liječenja od kojih je glavni fizioterapija kod lateralnog epikondilitisa, poznatijeg kao ''teniski lakat''. Uzrok nastanka teniskog lakta je svakodnevno ponavljanje ekstenzije i supinacije šake. Glavni simptom je bol koja se javlja na lateralnom području lakta. Bolesnika je bitno educirati o bolesti te ga savjetovati što da radi, a što da izbjegava. Glavni cilj fizioterapije po Cyriax konceptu je smanjiti ili u potpunosti ukloniti bol, a zatim i vratiti u potpunosti funkciju lakta. Cyriax koncept sastoji se od duboke frikcijske masaže, manipulacije po Millu te kortikosteroidnih injekcija. Unatoč tome što su istraživanja pokazala da još uvijek nema dovoljno dokaza da fizioterapija po Cyriax konceptu u potpunosti pomaže pri liječenju lateralnog epikondilitisa, fizioterapeuti najviše koriste upravo tu metodu, te bi to trebala biti dodatna motivacija da se provedu novija i bolja istraživanja.
Abstract (english)
The main objective of this thesis is to closely explain the occurrence and treatment of one of the most common overuse syndroms which interfere with performing activities on a daily basis and normal work performance. The final thesis is indicating on risk factors, clinical picture and forms of treatment from which the main one is physiotherapy of lateral epicondylitis, better known as „tennis elbow“. Tennis elbow is caused by repeated extension and supination of wrist. The main symptom is pain occuring in lateral part of the elbow. It is necessary to educate patient about disease, recommend what to do and what to avoid. The main objective of physiotherapy by Cyriax method is to reduce or completly remove the pain and then, to bring back functionality of elbow. Cyriax method consists of deep friction massage, Mill's manipulation and corticosteroid injections. Despite research showing that there is not enough evidence of successful treatment of lateral epicondylitis by Cyriax method, physiotherapeuts are mostly using that method and that should be an additional motivation for newer and better studies.
