Abstract
Oštećenja perifernih živaca uzrokuju ozljede, metaboličke, toksični ili nutricijski poremećaji, a u oko 50% neuropatija uzrok je nepoznat. Polineuropatije su simetrična oštećenja perifernih živaca koja su najizraženija u distalnim dijelovima donjih udova. Dijagnoza polineuropatije se temelji na anamnezi, kliničkom pregledu i elektromioneurografskom (EMNG) nalazu. Uloga otorinolaringologa je nakon pregleda i dijagnostike, postaviti dijagnozu vestibularne disfunkcije kod bolesnika koji boluju od polineuropatija, te je nakon dijagnosticiranja pravilno liječiti. Vestibularna disfunkcija bolesnicima sa polineuropatijom može izazvati nestabilnost ili neravnotežu, čime im onemogućava izvođenje fizioterapijskih vježbi. Vestibularna rehabilitacija specijalizirani je oblik terapije namijenjen ublažavanju primarnih i sekundarnih problema uzrokovanih vestibularnim poremećajima.
Abstract (english)
Peripheral nerve damage causes injury, metabolic, toxic or nutritional disorders, and in about 50% of neuropathy the cause is unknown. Polyneuropathy is a symmetrical peripheral nerve damage that is most pronounced in the distal parts of the lower limbs. Diagnosis of polyneuropathy is based on anamnesis, clinical examination and electromyoneurography (EMNG) results. After the examination and diagnosis, the role of otorhinolaryngologist is to establish a diagnosis of vestibular dysfunction in patients suffering from polyneuropathy and after diagnosis properly treatment. Vestibular dysfunction in patients with polyneuropathy can cause instability or imbalance, which prevents them from performing physiotherapy exercises. Vestibular Rehabilitation is a specialized form of therapy intended at alleviating primary and secondary problems caused by vestibular disorders.
