Abstract
Hrvatska narodna banka je središnja banka Republike Hrvatske i sastavni je dio Europskog sustava središnjih banaka. Glavni cilj joj je održavanje stabilnosti cijena, ali također radi na očuvanju stabilnosti bankovnog sustava, održavanju opće likvidnosti u zemlji, reguliranju tečaja kune. Odgovara nam na pitanja na koji način utječe na monetarnu politiku i kojim instrumentima pritom djeluje. U pisanju završnog rada korištena je metoda deskripcije, kako bi se dobio što detaljniji pogled u monetarnu politiku i njezine metode, te pogled u hrvatski bankarski sustav. Također vodi i deviznu politiku, upravlja međunarodnim pričuvama Republike Hrvatske, izdaje hrvatski novac – kunu, izdaje odobrenja za rad kreditnim institucijama za platni promet i elektronički novac te nadzire njihovo poslovanje. Osim što određuje količinu novca u optjecaju, hrvatska narodna banka nastoji održavati likvidnost banaka u sustavu, te ima i ulogu kontrolora banaka. Ono što je važno napomenuti jest da temeljni kapital Hrvatske narodne banke iznosi 2.500.000.000 kuna i ne može se prenositi niti može služiti kao sredstvo osiguranja.
Abstract (english)
The Croatian National Bank is the central bank of the Republic of Croatia and an integral part of the European system of Central Banks. The primary objective is to maintain price stability, but also to preserve the stability of the banking system, maintain general liquidity in the country, and regulate the exchange rate. It responds to questions in which way it affects the monetary policy and which instruments it uses. In writing this final paper the method of description is used in order to give a more detailed view of the monetary policy and its practices, and the insight in Croatian banking system. It also executes exchange policies, manages the international reserves of the Republic of Croatia, issues Croatian currency – the kuna, issues authorisations of credit institutions for money transfer and electronic money, and supervises their operations. In addition to specifying the amount of money in circulation, the Croatian National Bank ensures maintaining the liquidity of the banks in the system and has the role of banks supervisor. What is important to note is that the share capital of the Croatian National Bank totals 2.5 billion kunas and it cannot be transferable or serve as an insurance instrument.
