Abstract
Ankilozantni spondilitis je teška reumatska bolest kroničnog i progresivnog karaktera. Da bi se postavila ispravna dijagnoza, potrebno je i do nekoliko godina. Bolest drastično mijenja životni stil oboljelog te su potrebne znatne prilagodbe oboljelog, kako u privatnom, tako i u profesionalnom životu. U tim prilagodbama fizioterapeutske intervencije imaju velik značaj. Fizioterapeut može oboljelom znatno olakšati svakodnevicu, smanjiti bolove i ukočenost te omogućiti bolju kvalitetu života. Fizioterapeut sudjeluje u svim procesima tretiranja oboljenja, od uzimanja fizioterapeutske procjene do provođenja elektroterapije i vježbi koje se baziraju na istezanju i mobilnosti kralježnice, a samim time i njezine funkcionalnosti. Uloga je fizioterapeuta i edukacija oboljelog o njegovom stanju i pomoć u prilagodbi na samu bolest. Cilj ovog završnog rada je objasniti glavna obilježja oboljenja i učinkovitost fizioterapeutskih intervencija kod oboljelih od ankilozantnog spondilitisa te, na taj način, pokazati da oboljeli, unatoč tom teškom oboljenju, mogu normalno funkcionirati u svakodnevnom životu.
Abstract (english)
Ankylosing spondylitis is a serious rheumatic disease of a chronic and progressive nature. It takes several years to get a correct diagnosis. The disease drastically changes a patient’s lifestyle and it takes a lot of adjustments in a patient’s both private and professional life. Physiotherapy interventions are significantly important in helping a patient deal with all the adjustments that are needed. A physiotherapist participates in every phase of treating the disease, from taking a physiotherapy assessment, to electrotherapy treatments and exercises that are based on an extension and a mobilization of the spine, which increases it's effectiveness . A physiotherapist takes an important role in educating a patient, and provides an assistance in adjusting to the disease. The purpose of this final paper is to explain the main features of the disease, and effectiveness of physiotherapy interventions for a person with ankylosing spondylitis, and finally to show that a patient can still have a normal lifestyle, despite this serious condition.
