Abstract
Onkologija kao grana medicine bavi se liječenjem tumora, njihovim ranim otkrivanjem i pravodobnom liječenju. Neizostavan član tima u liječenju onkoloških pedijatrijskih bolesnika je fizioterapeut koji fizioterapijskim postupcima pomaže vraćanju funkcije i aktivnosti pacijenta te podizanju razine kvalitete njegovog života. Onkološki pedijatrijski fizioterapeuti su važni članovi profesionalnog tima uključenog u rast i razvoj djece, pomažući djeci da ostvare svoj maksimalni potencijal za kvalitetniju funkcionalnost sustava za kretanje. Također, fizioterapeut koji se bavi djecom mora biti adekvatno educiran o glavnim karakteristikama rasta i razvoja djeteta, fizioterapijskim tehnikama kao i biti spreman prilagoditi se promjenjivim potrebama djeteta u razvoju. Pedijatrijska fizioterapija može se odvijati u raznim ustanovama, npr. na bolničkom odjelu, poliklinici, u specijaliziranim ustanovama kao što su lječilišta ili toplice, dom zdravlja, vrtić, škola ili ustanova za rekreaciju. Neprisutnost fizioterapije kod liječenja onkoloških bolesnika je štetna zbog nemogućnosti pacijentovog napretka u fizičkom smislu te u aktivnostima svakodnevnog života i rekreativnim aktivnostima.
Abstract (english)
Oncology as a branch of medicine deals with the treatment of tumors, early detection and timely treatment. An indispensable member of the team in the treatment of oncology pediatric patients is a physiotherapist who uses physiotherapy procedures to help restore the function and activity of patients to raise the quality of life. Pediatric physiotherapists have involved important members of professional teams in the growth and development of children, helping them to realize their maximum potential for better movement system functionality. Also, a physiotherapist who deals with children must be adequately educated about the main characteristics of growth and development, such as expanding to adapt to the changing needs of the developing child. Pediatric physiotherapy can be held in various institutions, in hospitals, polyclinics, in specialized institutions such as health centers, kindergarten, a school or a recreational institution. The absence of physiotherapy in the treatment of cancer patients is detrimental due to the impossibilitiy of the patients physical progress and activity in everyday life and recreational activity.
