The concept of Plato's ideal state is one of the most famous in political philosophy. Plato first speaks of it in the work States, which is considered both his central and most influential work. In an ideal state, justice should prevail, and this is achievable only in a way that everyone does what they know best and does not interfere in other people's affairs. The ideal state is therefore based on the division of labor and classes. According to Plato, there should be three classes: rulersphilosophers, guardians-warriors and workers. Each class should do its job and not interfere with others. The role of the philosopher is crucial. Plato considered philosophers, and thus himself, perfect rulers given the knowledge and desire for knowledge that exists in philosophers. And in other works, Plato speaks in the state. The last of these are Laws where different thinking isevident. Plato no longer needs the absolute best form of government (perfect state), but the best form in the existing conditions. Philosophers still play an important role, but they are no longer perfect rulers. The laws on the basis of which the rule of law is enabled are perfect. Plato's state was criticized and elaborated by many, and the first among them was Plato's disciple Aristotle.
