Abstract
Konzervativno liječenje adolescentnih skolioza ima brojne protivnike koji, važno je naglasiti, nemaju jedinstven stav kad je posrijedi mogućnost progresije do granice za operativne zahvate, koji u adolescentno doba utječu na daljnji rast i razvoj kralježnice. Ortoze imaju znatna ograničenja, te korisnik najprije mora ispuniti različite kriterije donešene od strane SRS-a (Scoliosis Research Society). Postoje razni uzroci pojave skolioze, no u gotovo 80% slučajeva uzrok je nepoznat. Naime, razni faktori predstavljaju kontraindikaciju za liječenje skolioza ortozom kao što su koštana zrelost, skolioza veća od 45°, pretilost/pothranjenost te torakalna lordoza. Svrha ovog rada je pružiti prikaz adolescentne skolioze, uvidjeti čimbenike rizika koji utječu na ishod liječenja ortozama pomoću postojeće literature te odgovoriti na pitanje je li uloga ortoza prevencija od operativnih zahvata.
Abstract (english)
Conservative treatment of adolescent scoliosis has numerous opponents which, it is important to emphasize, do not have an unified position when it comes to the possibility of progression to the limit for operative interventions that in the adolescent age affect the further growth and development of the spine. Ortoses have significant limitations, and the user must first complete the different criteria made by the SRS (Scoliosis Research Society). There are various causes of scoliosis, but in almost 80% the cause is unknown. In fact, various factors are contraindications for the orthotic treatment of scoliosis such as bone maturity, scoliosis greater than 45°, obesity/malnutrition and thoracic lordosis. The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of adolescent scoliosis, to find out the risk factors that affect the outcome of the orthotic treatment using the existing literature and to answer the question is the role of orthosis preventing operative interventions.
