Abstract
Ples je sastavni dio svih kultura, od prapovijesti do modernog doba. Tjelesna spremnost kao i sastav tjelesne mase plesača promatran s nutricionističkog stajališta teme su brojnih istraživanja. Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je ispitati glavne životne navike plesača u Republici Hrvatskoj te kako su one povezane s nivoom uhranjenosti mjerenim preko BMI. Istraživanje je provedeno putem online anketnog upitnika u kojem su sudjelovala 34 ispitanika iz različitih gradova Republike Hrvatske. Rezultati istraživanja pokazali su da većina ispitanika uz plesne treninge svakodnevno prakticira i neki drugi oblik rekreacije, najčešće u obliku šetnje. S nutricionističkog stajališta, prehrana plesača je zdrava i uravnotežena. Statistički značajne razlike u vrijednostima BMI vidljive su kod osoba koje tjedno više vremena provode u bavljenju hobijem ili aktivnostima s mobitelom. Iako duže i učestalije treniranje utječe na manje vrijednosti BMI, u našem istraživanju rezultati nisu pokazali statistički značajnu razliku u BMI vrijednostima među ispitanicima koji se razlikuju po učestalosti i trajanju treninga. Ovo istraživanje pokazalo je da iako je ples umjetnički sport, svakodnevne aktivnosti plesača se bitno ne razlikuju od ostalih sportaša te da prehrana i sedentarne aktivnosti imaju utjecaj na BMI.
Abstract (english)
Dance is an integral part of all cultures, from prehistory to the modern age. Physical fitness and body mass composition of dancers are the subjects of numerous studies. The main purpose of this research was to examine the main lifestyle habits of dancers in Croatia and how they are related to the level of nutrition measured by BMI. The research was conducted through the online survey questionnaire. In the research participated 34 respondents from the different parts of Croatia. The results of research showed that most respondents do some other kind of daily activity except of dance training. The most common example is a walk. From the nutritional point of view, diet of dancers is healthy and balanced. Statistically significant differences in BMI values are visible in people who spend more time per week doing hobby or mobile activity. Although longer and more frequent workout affects a lower BMI value, our study results didn’t show a statistically significant difference in BMI values among subjects that differ in the frequency and duration of workout. This research has shown that although dance is an artistic sport, the daily activities of dancers are not significantly different from other athletes. Also, it has shown that nutrition and sedentary activities have an impact on BMI.
