Abstract
Darovitost je skup osobina koje omogućuju pojedincu potencijal za postizanje natprosječnih uspjeha u različitim područjima. Talent obuhvaća darovitost u jednom užem području kao što je glazba ili matematički talent. Roditelji nadarene djece nisu dovoljno educirani o tome što znači imati i odgojiti darovito dijete. Popularno je uvjerenje kako je darovitost nasljedna, što je zapravo i točno. Za pravo iskorištavanje darovitosti i talenta potrebno je svakodnevno poticanje kroz igru. U zadnjih nekoliko godina odgojno- obrazovni sustav sve više radi na grupiranju učenika prema njihovim sposobnostima. Postoje određene brojne karakteristike koje posjeduju nadarena djeca, ali one sve ne moraju biti jednako prisutne kod svakog nadarenog djeteta. Zbog prevelike intenzivnosti, osjetljivosti, mašte, emocija, psihomotorike i osjetila , nadarenoj se djeci često postavlja kriva dijagnoza. Postoje 2 stila mišljena i učenja, a to su vizualno-prostorni i slušno sekvencijski koji zbog kontradikcije mogu dovesti do nesuglasica i problema između odgajatelja i nadarenog djeteta,. Nekadašnja potraga za talentima otkrivala se pomoću frenologije i IQ testa. Danas postoje znanstveno utemeljeni testovi koje roditelji popunjavaju zajedno sa svojom djecom.
Abstract (english)
Giftedness is a set of characteristics that give an individual potential to achieve above-average success in different areas. Talent stands for giftedness in one more narrow area, such as music or mathematics. The parents of gifted children are not well informed on the meaning of having and raising a gifted child. It is popularly believed that giftedness is hereditary, which is actually true. Still, it is necessary to stimulate children daily through play in order to fully exploit giftedness and talent. In recent years the educational system has been working to group children according to their abilities. There are numerous characteristics of gifted children, but they need not be equally present in each gifted child. Due to their high intensity, sensitivity, imagination, emotions, psychomotorics and senses, gifted children are often misdiagnosed. There are two styles of thinking and learning – visual-spatial and auditory-sequential, the contradiction of which can lead to disagreement and problems between the educator and the gifted child. Talents used to be identified with the help of phrenology and IQ tests, whereas today there are scientifically based tests which parents fill in together with their children.
