Abstract | Za razumijevanje važnosti dobre prehrane neophodno je znati prepoznati hranjive tvari i njihove funkcije. Pretjerano uživanje u alkoholnim pićima kao i pretjerano konzumiranje hrane bogate purinima odnosno iznutrice, divljač, konzervirana hrana, školjke i crveno meso dovode do hiperuricemije, a posljedično tome i do gihta. |
Abstract (english) | To understand the importance of good nutrition, it is essential to be able to identify the nutrients and their functions. The most important nutrients - carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals and water are presence in the foods we eat, and the chemical properties that supply the body with heat and energy, provide material for the growth and recovery of body tissues and regulate body processes. Gout is one of the earliest described diseases. The term gout refers to a set of symptoms that come on their own or in combination with other symptoms. Gouty arthritis, a systemic rheumatic disease that reduces the quality of life, leads to functional disability with a reflection on physical activity, but also affects emotional and social status. There are four clinical stages of gout: the first stage is asymptomatic hyperuricemia, the second stage is characterized by acute attacks of arthritis, the third stage is gout in remission, or between the beginning of symptoms and the fourth stage is chronic gout with the appearance of tophi. Curing gout is not pointed at just easing acute attacks and preventing future attacks but also recognizing and treating other concomitant conditions such as hypertension or hyperlipidemia. Excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages, as well as excessive consumption of foods rich in purines, entralis, venison, canned food, shellfish and red meat, lead to hyperuricemia and, consequently, to gout. Physiotherapy assessment is an indispensable part of the road which leads to a quality recovery. By conducting physiotherapy procedures, the goal is to reduce the patients pain, improve the mobility and functionality of the joints, and prevent further deformities and contractures through individual and carefully selected exercises. |
