The purpose of this final paper is to explain the role of physiotherapy in rehabilitation of patients after craniocerebral injuries. Craniocerebral injuries represent important public health problem. The fact is that in the world around 10 million cases of craniocerebral injuries end up with hospitalization or tragically. On 1 000 000 people, 8 000 of them experience some form of brain injury in Croatia per year. Depending on the severity of the injury, craniocerebral injuries can cause absolute or partial disability, and the consequences can be permanent or temporary. There are no two same conditions of patients with craniocerebral injuries. Functional consequences of injury depends on various factors and they individually affects on person. The process of rehabilitation is long-term and it contains physiotherapy assessment, intervention and evaluation. It is very important to recognize damage and help to patient with returning to activities of daily living. The role of physiotherapist is to involve patient in early rehabilitation process, just like coordination, guide, provide services and care during the patient's recovery after craniocerebral injury. Sensory stimulation, Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), Bobath concept, therapeutic exercises are just some kind of the tehniques that are implemented in physiotherapeutic process of rehabilitation. Patient's needs, wishes and goals are considered as center of interests, and on that way, the patient is actively involved in the rehabilitation process.
