Abstract
Autizam je sve prisutniji neurorazvojni poremećaj među djecom diljem svijeta koji je karakteriziran promjenama u komunikaciji, socijalnoj interakciji i ponašanju. Počinje rano u djetinjstvu, u prve tri godine, a simptomi ograničavaju svakodnevno funkcioniranje tijekom cijelog života. Danas se prvi znakovi autizma primjećuju sve ranije te se samim tim počinje ranije uključivati djecu u intervencijske programe. Vrlo je važna i uključenost roditelja jer oni najbolje poznaju svoje dijete i s njim provode najviše vremena. Kako sam uzrok ovog poremećaja nije poznat ne postoji ni jedinstvena intervencija, ali prisutni su brojni tretmani koji mogu pomoći pri ublažavanju i smanjenu simptoma. Svi imaju zajednički cilj, a to je poticanje normalnog razvoja djeteta, poboljšanjem vještina komunikacije, društvene interakcije, te smanjenje nepoželjnih oblika ponašanja. Budući da je svako dijete s autizmom različito i intervencije koje se primjenjuju moraju biti individualno prilagođene svakom djetetu. Kao osnovni alat za razvijanje socijalnih vještina primjenjuju se intervencije temeljene na bihevioralnom pristupu, ali postoji i niz drugih intervencija koje u kombinaciji dovode do zadovoljavajućih rezultata.
Abstract (english)
Autism is neurodevelopmental disorder among children, increasingly present around the world, characterized by changes in communication, social interactions and behavior. It begins early in the childhood, in the first three years, and the symptoms limit daily functioning throughout the entire life. At present time, the first signs of autism are noticed very early, and children are included in intervention programmes very soon. Parents´engagement is very important because they know their child the best and spend most of the time with the child. As the cause of this disorder is unknown, there is no single intervention, but there are numerous treatments that can help alleviate and reduce the symptoms. Each of them has a common goal, which is to encourage the normal development of the child by improving communication skills, social interactions, and reducing unwanted forms of behavior. Since each child with autism is different, the interventions applied must be individually tailored to each child. Basic tools for developing social skills are interventions based on behavioral approach, but there are also a number of other interventions that combined together give satisfactory results.
