Abstract
Volontiranje je neprofitna i neplaćena aktivnost kojom pojedinci doprinose dobrobiti zajednice ili cijelog društva. Javlja se u raznim oblicima i uključuje lokalne i međunarodne volonterske aktivnosti. Cilj ovog rada bio je objasniti što je to volontiranje, kako utječe na pojedinca, kako na organizaciju gdje se volontira te koja je uloga volontera u javnom sektoru. Promicanjem volonterstva i njegovih vrijednosti, edukacijom te omogućavanjem volonterskog rada svim ljudima koji to žele, doprinosi se rješavanju raznih socijalnih problema, zadovoljavanju potreba i razvoju pojedinaca, grupa, zajednice i društva.
Abstract (english)
Volunteering is a non-profit, unpaid activity through which individuals contribute to the wellbeing of a community or society in whole. It is found in various forms and it includes local and international volunteering activities. The aim of this paper is to explain what volunteering is, how it affects an individual and the organization where one volunteers as well as what the role of a volunteer in public sector is. By promoting volunteering and its values, educating and making it possible to volunteer for anyone who wishes to do so, much is contributed to solving different social problems, satisfying needs and development of an individual, group, community and society.
